Weekend Freebies

How can the weekend be over already? Where did it go? Well I do know what I didn’t do, I didn’t clean out and sort our closet like I planed. Instead I read the first book in the Vampire Diaries series: The Awakening. I am really into the TV series, so just had to check out what the books are about. The story was nice, but I actually like the characters in the TV series better. fyi: The TV series is just loosely based on the books. Kind of like True Blood and the Southern Vampire Mysteries. Oh and I finished reading book 3 of the Southern Vampire Mysteries: Club Dead this weekend too. Up till now I just had a compilation of all 9 books containing just the parts that have my favorite vamp, Eric Northman, in them. Since I liked that so much and can’t wait for season 3 of True Blood, I ordered all the books and am now reading them. Unlike the Vampire Diaries where I like the TV series better I prefer the Southern Vampire Mysteries books to the TV series True Blood. Don’t get me wrong, True Blood is my favorite TV series by far, but the relationship between Sookie and Eric in the books is just sooo much better. I still can’t believe that Alan Ball robbed me of seeing Eric in pink spandex at the end of season two. I was so looking forward to that. For those of you who haven’t read the books, at the end of the second book, Living Dead in Dallas, Sookie asks Eric to accompany her to an orgy, so she can pick some minds there. His outfit for the event is a pair of pink spandex leggings which leave nothing to the imagination. And later Sookie ends up on the hood of his corvette where he whispers into her ear: Yield to me. OMG that alone is epic. And to top it off, the maenad shows up and Sookie gets sandwiched between Eric and Bill as they try to shield her with their bodies. Yep, we got robbed as far as I’m concerned and Alan Ball better make it up to me in season 3 of True Blood. And now I have to wait 10 months for that to happen. Damn that sucks! At least its only 32 days till New Moon. OK, enough of my babbling, here are the freebies I found, enjoy and please remember leave the designers some love. I do it every time I download something, it really isn’t that hard, it only takes a minute, and it will most definitely put a smile on the designer’s face. So just do it ;-)

For a variety of reasons I have not been scraping or gone hunting for freebies for almost a year and I barely read any blogs any more. I do occasionally like to visit old blogs, and yours is one of them. I must say that it's your fault and yours only that I ended up watching the "Twilight" and after that reading all the books. Because of that I ended up being curious about "True Blood" and watching the series (also awaiting for the third season) and after that "The Vampire Diaries".

You making that comment about the books on which "True Blood" is inspired is really not helpful right now that I need to read some other stuff, not to speak of the ones "The Vampire Diaries" are inspired. You should be ashamed of promoting reading books. LOL Just kidding.

Nice to see that things are going well and you keep posting freebies, this place is becoming a classic blog for anyone starting or doing digital scrapbooking.

Thanks for the all the work and best wishes. Take care. :)

LOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE True Blood!!!! I agree--I wish the series followed the books more. I mean, the shower scene wasn't even in the show. Come on now!!!

Thanks for the great freebies.

I just wanted to tell you that the Vampire Diaries books get better. I too liked the way the series portrayed them better than the first book, but as the series went on, I really grew to like all the characters. Now I'm kind of missing people like Meredith in the series. :)

I am SO looking forward to New Moon too. I decided to read the Twilight series just to see what all the fuss was about and ended up really liking them.

Have you read Stephenie Meyers's other book, The Host? It isn't related to Twilight at all (no vampires), but the plot is really interesting and I LOVED it. Now I cannot wait until she comes out with another novel.

I have a free mini-kit on my blog if you are interested. Gender neutral, which is a new thing for me. LOL.

Thanks for all you do. I look forward to your posts because you do find such great stuff. :)

The templates today are great! Thanks so much!

I too like the Southern Vampire books better than True Blood. I am only on episode 6 of season 1 though, so I didn't know that we were ROBBED of the pink spandex! That is just wrong! Oh, and I would just catch up to the end of season 2 but I am trying to space the episodes out so I won't have to wait so long for season 3! Haha.

I have to thank you for getting me and my husband both hooked on True Blood. You always mentioned it so I had to check it out. We got the first season's discs through netflix and were instantly hooked, going through the entire season in a matter of days. I'm totally in love with the theme song and already purchased Jace Everett's CD. I play "Bad Things" over and over. It drives one guy at work nuts. *lol* Now I'm slowly downloading all of season 2. We'll watch the 1st episode tonight. Can't wait! I'll have to get the books. I can't believe there is such a huge gap between seasons.
