Template Tuesday

If you would have asked Damien around 9am today to give the meanest mommy in the world a prize, I would have got it. What was my crime, you ask?…I told him he had to wear long johns. In the end I had to bribe him to get them on. No rational thought had a chance in his mind: not the fact that we had Siberian temperatures outside and we don’t have a nice warm car to ride to kindergarten in, nor the fact that the long johns were black with cool orange stitching and padded knees for better playing. No nothing helped, I had to bribe my kid with a piece of candy in order to get to work in time. The fun fact is, that while tears were still running down his face when walking down the steps, 2 seconds later, as soon as he got outside, he was laughing again because there was some frozen snow outside and he didn’t feel cold. Unbelievable :-)

Monday’s Freebies

Hi scrapeteers ;-)
I’ve been asked if I will make a Project 365 template every week. The answer is no. Maybe every now and then. But there are many others out there. I will let you know if the template is for P365 after the link, like yesterday. There are plenty to choose from as this project really is huge this year. 
I would advise to pick a template at the beginning of every week, so you can pop the photo and journaling in every day. That way you don’t forget anything and won’t feel overwhelmed at the end of the week. I found that worked great for me last week. And I was done in a matter of minutes. This week I’ll use Meridith’s week one template.

camera bag

I found my camera bag: the Crumpler Pretty Bella 3000 – cute, functional & small. I would have liked it with more color, but it only comes in black. However the white stitching makes it interesting and more girly.

It is a European model (sorry not available in the US) and is slightly smaller than the 5 Million Dollar Home US model. The cheapest price I found was 40€, which makes it cheaper that the 5 Million Dollar Home I originally picked.
While I was at it, I also got the Crumpler Pretty Bella 55 for small point & click cameras. It was only 15€. The shoulder strap is removable and it can be attached to a belt or purse strap or my preference the shoulder strap of the big Bella ;-)

I don’t even have a point & click camera at the moment, because my old one is no longer working. I’m thinking about getting the Canon PowerShot SD110IS (US) / Canon Digital IXUS 80 IS (EU).

The reviews I read so far are great and since it’s not the newest model, it is in an acceptable price range. Do any of you have this camera? What is your experience with it?

Do you have a word for 2009? Inspired by Ali Edwards I decided to choose my very own word for 2009. The following were on my list: achieve, accomplish, complete, execute, fulfill. They are all similar, so after much thought and flipping through the dictionary, I decided on ACCOMPLISH. Creativity isn’t my problem at the moment, I’m full of ideas, but actually making those ideas become reality is where I lack. When the work part comes in, I tend to run and hide ;-) My main goal this year is to bring the renovation of our house to completion. I’m so sick and tired of feeling like living on a construction site. I also want to see Project 365 through to the end. I would kick myself if I stopped half ways through.

Fabulous Freebie Friday

Today I had a satisfying day at work: I cleaned up my desk and all the drawers & stacking trays. I actually had a whole big paper box of documents I threw out. Wish I had a camera with me to make the paper box my photo of the day, but my little point & click is no longer working and the SLR is too big to take to work. I wish you all a fantastic weekend :-)

Happy New Year

Hi gals,
a happy New Year to you and your families. This year was the first time we woke Damien up. He was a little sleepy at first, but then he was quickly excited about the fireworks. We had little toy torpedos so he could make some noise too. I explained to him what a new year is and why we are celebrating and that everyone makes a resolution. After some hard thinking on his part, he decided he wanted to learn to write his name this year. A goal he is sure to success, as he can already write most of the letters ;-)
Tabitha left a comment asking about a file sorting program. Quite a few use ACDSee which is great as far as I know. I personally don’t use any special program. I have the kits in folders sorted by designer. I rename the preview file to folder.jpg so I can see it on the windows folder. That works fine for me.
