Template Tuesday

If you would have asked Damien around 9am today to give the meanest mommy in the world a prize, I would have got it. What was my crime, you ask?…I told him he had to wear long johns. In the end I had to bribe him to get them on. No rational thought had a chance in his mind: not the fact that we had Siberian temperatures outside and we don’t have a nice warm car to ride to kindergarten in, nor the fact that the long johns were black with cool orange stitching and padded knees for better playing. No nothing helped, I had to bribe my kid with a piece of candy in order to get to work in time. The fun fact is, that while tears were still running down his face when walking down the steps, 2 seconds later, as soon as he got outside, he was laughing again because there was some frozen snow outside and he didn’t feel cold. Unbelievable :-)

And that's what I love about kids - the quickness to forgive, forget, and just get on with life. And, BTW, I've won that award so many times, my shelf is overflowing with 'em - I'll ship some to you. ;-P Thanks for your list!

I am always trying to use logic with my 4 yr. old and it NEVER works. I wonder why I keep trying....? Seriously... Thanks for the WONDERFUL freebies!!!

Oh no, you mean my 3 year old son still has years left of toddler logic? And my 18 month is about to start it soon, so I'll have two little tyrants on my hands....(sigh)

Lol on your story! We do what we have to sometimes for our kids right! Lucky yours is back in school, my boys have been home this week so far because all the schools here are closed until tomorrow and 2 hours late at though. Too much snow and there are no sidewalks that are not covered in snow. They have been shoveling the roofs too to make sure it is safe for everyone. We got 6 feet of snow in December and the pattern is looking similar so far in January. YIKES! Hope your temps warm up soon there!

Hee!! Sorry to laugh at you & Damien Angie but my Julie is 9 and I still have to bribe her with candy to get her to wear snowpants. LOL. She would rather stand outside, get sicker than a dog and be FASHIONABLE than be warm. ROFL!!! Kids are stinkers...LOL

Thanks so much for finding my freebie today! Made my morning!!

Have a good one!

I lost count how many times I won the award as worst Mommy with our 4 children through the years. Now that they are married with kids they think I am the best!

Love the story about your son. I fight with my kids to get them in their long johns, too.

FYI: Shel at Shel Belle Scraps has a cool date stamp available today.

Great story...been there too with my kindergartener and 3rd grader. They don't like mommy logic most days...especially when I have to go to work (or anywhere)!

Thanks for your blog and all the freebie links. We used to live in Geneva and we miss all the winter activities of Switzerland, France and Germany!

Thank you so much for all the effort you put in to make these fantastic freebielists!!! I wish my temper could switch as fast as my 3yrs olds does! Sometimes they really drive you to the line... and 5 seconds later you can be the best mum ever... One of lifes mysteries. /anna

Isn't being a mom FUN? I loved this blog post. We have below zero weather and my 14 year old son refuses to wear anything more than a light hoodie. Just drives me insane! Wish I could bribe HIM with candy. LOL ~ Offering you lots of moral support from here in the trenches. :)

Oh, by the way, I majored in MEAN in college. (My son once asked my husband if I really graduated from college, and when he told him yes, the kid got the funniest look on his face...) That's why I'm such a great mom!

Thanks for your site. Might I suggest getting Damien Under Armor? I used long johns in High School for marching band; my daughter used Under Armor. She was actually warm! I only didn't freeze.
