Thursday’s Freebies

It turns out I had an allergic reaction to something I ate. I was full of itchy hives and didn’t sleep all night. In the morning my eyes were so swollen I could only open them half-ways. I was at my doctors as soon as he opened at 8, waited for an hour till it was my turn, and got a nice cortisone shot. He then gave me a prescription for an anti-allergenic and I was off towards home. Christian brought Damien to Kindergarten and I went straight to bed. The itching stopped after about 30min and I finally found some sleep. Right now only my eyes are a bit swollen, but that is about it. Now I have to find out what it was, that caused the reaction. At home I ate the usual, however I had lunch at our cafeteria. I guess I have to try a little harder to bring leftovers to work or make something in the morning and not eat at the cafeteria.

Thanks for all the great finds!

I had the hives once. I finally narrowed it down to soap. It was either Caress or Camay. I was in my teens. I can't remember which one it was so I just stay away from them both.

oh no!! sorry to hear you're allergic to something, but glad there was an explanation to the itching.. you'll just have to be careful, because with those food allergies, your reaction can worsen every time you're exposed to whatever aggrivated it in the first place. praying for discernment as to what it might have been and for some rest!!

WOW, Angie...Thank goodness things turned out okay. Allergic reactions are not fun. I hope you are able to figure out what caused it so you don't have to go through that again.

Thanks so much for the freebie list. You sure are good to all of us. Take care of yourself and get some sleep. :-)

Doesn't sound like much fun, hope you get feeling better soon!

Oh, I hope you feel better. Just a thought - it may not have been from something you ate. I had a similar reaction after touching some of that spray foam insulation.

Thanks for the link to my site Angie!

Sorry about the allergic reaction. Hopefully, you will be able to narrow down the cause so it doesn't happen again. I know you must have be miserable. My son had a reaction to food once and it was really scary.

oh goodness, that had to bite! i'm glad you're feeling better - and hopefully less itchy. that's a rough way to find out you have allergies! if it does happen again and you don't have something prescribed my mom chugs down some benedryl to help when she's eaten something that had shell fish in it (or was incorrectly told it was imitation) and that helps with all the swelling (her throat particularly). hopefully you find out what it was before you eat it again!
