Happy New Year’s Eve

I wish you all a happy New Year’s Eve and a great 2009 with lots of scrappin’ creativity.

Template Tuesday and other Freebies

Hi gals,
thanks for your comments and links on Project 365. I going to try to do it. Carin left a great link on Project 365 which won me over. I decided on taking a photo each day and then doing a weekly 2-page digital layout with the photos. Nothing fancy, more a clean graphical style, so the photos stay the center of attention. That also helps me actually do it, as it doesn’t involve too much work. Heck, I can always embellish later on, right? And just maybe I’ll become a better photographer along the way.
While we are on the topic of photography…as I already mentioned this mommy got the hot Canon Rebel for Christmas. Since then I have been waiting for a chance to take my Rebel out and about. And today was the day. Damien’s best friend Leo was back in town and together with his mom we went to a huge new dino-park that just opened a couple miles away. We were so excited – Damien because of the dinos and me because of the chance to really take my camera for a test ride. Now you can probably guess what happened…Damien got what he wanted,…. but no cameras allowed in the exhibit – grrrr. Just my luck. If any of you in the area are interested in going, I thought it was really fun, live and touchable history. However I wouldn’t go during the holidays (the concept and layout is not made for the mass of people there today) and I wouldn’t take children younger than 5 or 6. Damien doesn’t scare easy and enjoyed himself, but it was a little too much for Leo (who will also turn 4 in two months). His poor mum had to carry him quite a lot.

Lazy Sunday Freebies

Hi gals,
after a lazy morning playing board games with Damien, we went to the movies in the afternoon: Madagascar 2. It was a cute movie, however I didn’t like the German translation. We have the first part as a DVD and only watch it in English, so it took a while to get used to the unfamiliar voices. Damien enjoyed himself very much. It was his second time to the movies (Horton hears a Who was the first) and everything was exciting. I presume the bag of sweet popcorn he ate added to the experience. He was jumping all over the place after the movies :-) So all in all, we had a very fun lazy Sunday. I hope you did too.

I just booked a beginner’s and advanced photography class at our local VHS (adult education center), so on two weekends in January I’m going to be learning how to use my new baby. I’m so excited. Now off to a truckload of freebies:

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your families.
I most definitely did. Christmas Eve I spent with my entire family (including my parents and grandma) at Chris’ parents house. And yesterday Chris, Damien, my grandma, and me drove to my parents’ house, where we met with my aunt, uncle, and cousin & her husband.

And what was inside? The unbelievable…my personal dream come true…

a Canon Rebel XSi /450D. Can you believe it? I couldn’t. Especially not with the price of that monster in mind. But my parents got it anyway, it’s a Christmas and birthday present in one and I love it.
And this morning I had nothing better to do, than find the perfect camera strap for my baby on Etsy. What do you think?

Now I have to find a funky camera bag. Do you have any ideas? The best I could find was Crumpler, but the only half-ways stylish one they had, is sold out.

Help, there has got to be more out there than black nylon camera bags…? If you you know of one, please leave me a link in the comments…pretty, pretty please. After all my baby has got to go out in style ;-)

Merry Christmas

Hi gals,
I want to wish you all a very merry Christmas. May you have some unforgettable loving moments with your families.
I finished packing the last presents this morning, our desert is ready (my mom is making the starters & cake and Chris’ mom is making the main course), the early childhood music instrument set is packed to take to Chris’ parents where we will sing and celebrate this afternoon and evening, and the only thing left is taking a bath and getting dressed.
