Tuesday’s Freebies

Hi gals,
Andrea left me a fabulous link to a German photography forum: http://www.dforum.net/. Thanks Andrea. Some of those photos make my jaw drop.
Camilla left a great tip when placing two individual 12x12 templates in a 24x12:
”You can mark half of your canvas, using the square marquee tool, and size set to 3600x3600 px. With the selcetion intact (marching ants running), go ahead and grab all the layers of your template, and shift+drag them onto your canvas. They will automatically center within the selected area. Now go ahead and select the other half, using your square marquee tool and same settings, then shift+drag the other template onto that.” Thank you, Camilla. I tested it right away and it works perfect :-)
Did you watch Obama’s inauguration today? I can’t believe the amount of people that showed up. What did you think about his inauguration speech? I was astounded how surprisingly direct he addressed the crisis, and which steps he wants to take in terms of the wars. Usually inauguration speeches are more of a theoretical nature. I can remember analyzing quite a few of them when I was at still at the university, but I can’t remember one that summarized a crisis so relentlessly. What are your thoughts?

I've been lurking quietly for a while now; this seems to be a good post to come out of hiding on.

I fell asleep with my boy today, so I missed all the good festivities. As soon as I woke up I found a transcript of the speech. It was ... well, it was incredible. I loved how positive he was while also being honest and blunt. He didn't let anyone off the hook - and made sure we all know he expects us to work as hard as he will.

Ever since he was elected I've felt a huge weight come off my shoulders. I fully expect him to set America back on course. I'm more than happy to help.

Now, after all that :-D

Time is my enemy, and I've let it make me very neglectful. You really deserve a huge bunch of thank-you's - you do such an amazing thing every day, and I appreciate it more than I can say.
I love your blog - not just the freebies, but the hints and helps, too.

Thank you so very much. You are a gem :-D

Like Brenda, I need to send some belated and much deserved thank yous to you and your blog. You have pointed me to some fabulous designers and have saved me tons of time.

As for the inauguration ceremonies today, I continue to be in awe of how blessed we are in the US to have accomplished 43 peaceful transitions of power. I was one of the 47% that did not vote for President Obama. But, having said that, I am also one of the millions that pray for him and his precious family everyday. Prayers for wisdom, safety, and special time with his little girls.

Thanks for the opportunity to share..have a blessed week!

I have to say I'm with Tracey. I too did not vote for Obama. He certainly talked the talked. Only time will tell if he can walk the walk. I too pray for him and his family. I'm sure the media will be kinder to him then they were to President Bush. Whether you liked either of the them or neither of them, the both deserve respect.

Oh and many, many thanks for all you do. I like reading about things happening in your family too!

Oh, Oh, Oh, I have been having severe stomach cramps for three days. Today my hubby decided I was going to the Emergency Room. During each procedure I would ask are you going to be done by 11? They made sure that I could go to the waiting room and see our 44th President sworn in. I did so well for about 13 minutes and then I was so tired I fell asleep. I will youtube it later. I believe he is smart and has surrounded himself with smart people to help him accomplish the goals this country needs. I'm sure that he will fail in some instances and hopefully those that did not vote for him will realize that not everything can be perfect. That is all I'll say for now. Patty

Thanks for the wonderful freebies you direct us to!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Inauguration...I voted for our new President, and I was in tears today. I too was surprised at his direct speech.

Oh yeah...and I was going to say that I'm glad that Camila told you about her way. That is how I do it as well, but I'm not really good with giving directions, so I didn't email you with it! It makes it SO easy!!

I think Obama is a man with a broad perspective, and that's what you need to bring people together. Because that's what he does instead of creating diversion.
I hope he can realize at least a bit of what he said in the speech.
Let us realize he can't change worldeconomy and other heavy issues by himself, but we all have to SHARE our responsability.
My favourite words in Dutch are: Moeite doen!! And that means: Taking EFFORT
I think that is a basic thing when it comes to all problems.
When we take a little more effort to help others, the environment, to get to know other people and their ways, to share etc. we can achieve a lot!

Start with a smile when you meet someone on the street. It has a greater impact then you can imagine. You don't have to do big things to be great!
Thanks Angie, Love your blog :)

Hello Angie love! I'm still in restoration mode over here and trying desperately to "catch up"!!! Your YUMMY template finds are gong to help me out BIG time girl and I thank you EVER so much for them!

Firstly, I was on such an EMOTIONAL high yesterday and to sum it all up without elaborating too much, our NEW president speaks TO the people, not AT the people! He is SO well-composed, SO intelligent, SO focused and I believe with ALL of my heart that he TRULY has the proper perspective and "heart" in helping to bring our nation back into balance, thus putting the rest of the world at ease I'm sure!

I am NOT as politically savvy as you dear one, but I DO feel an ABUNDANCE of HOPE for us as a nation to once again become "united"! NO one is perfect and we all have plans that fail. It is what we decide to do after the failures that speaks the LOUDEST to me! I see our President with strength, determination and perseverance to see that we ALL succeed in doing our part.

To top off the FESTIVITIES of yesterday, I was given the INCREDIBLY good news that my number two daughter is pregnant with her FIRST child! WOO HOO! A MOST memorable day for me INDEED! :)

Thank you SO much for listing my *Love Me Tender* series and there is now a coordinating alpha as well!

I have SO missed my daily visits here with you Angie and hope to get these silly computer issues resolved completely by month's end! It is NOT fun being behind!!! LOL!

Have a GORGEOUS day darlin'!

Hugs,
Linda *hearts*
